Power of Mail event in partnership with postal and logistics specialist Whistl.

On 9th July, we welcomed senior figures from across the industry and our client base, including Boots, Aviva, Cancer Research UK, EE, Direct Line Group and HomeServe.

This year’s focus was on the power of integration - showing how combining traditional mail with digital channels and smarter data use can boost engagement, improve targeting and deliver measurable results. 

The day began with a welcome from Whistl’s Nigel Polglass, followed by Ian Gibbs from JICMAIL, who introduced the idea of mail as a “Super Touchpoint” within the customer journey.

Mark Davies, Whistl’s Managing Director of Doordrop Media, then shared a compelling case study from the retail sector, highlighting what happened when a leading supermarket paused door drops and why they quickly brought them back.

Alec Bartlett from AvB Creative took a closer look at the hidden cost of ‘playing it safe’ with creative, while Melanie Wynne from PdV shared an impressive integrated campaign from Tails.com, demonstrating how alignment in offline and online activity can significantly lift campaign performance.

We also heard from our own Paragon specialists. Hannah Stapleford from Paragon DCX explored how brands can unlock greater customer value by combining loyalty, behavioural insight and data. Paragon Dagenham Site Director, Gemma Mitchell took part in the afternoon panel discussion and the event was brought to a close by our Chief Technology Officer Stephen Lester. 

The day concluded with a panel discussion, led by Ian Gibbs and featuring voices from Whistl, Join the Dots and Paragon. The panel discussed where mail fits in today’s digital-first environment and why it still offers unmatched cut-through and trust.

From the opening keynote to the final panel, one theme stood out loud and clear: mail is no longer an isolated channel… it’s a powerful player in integrated, multichannel marketing.
